Lola M. Wade, 87, of Parsons died Thursday morning, Nov. 6, 2008. at Woodridge Estates in Parsons.

She was born Feb. 8, 1921, in rural Havana in the Deer Creek Community to Arthur "Pat" and Gladys (Augustine) Cummin. She grew up near Havana and received her education at Deer Creek School and Havana Schools.

She married Dennis "Bus" Wade on Oct. 10, 1936, at Niotaze. He preceded her in death in 1998

For many years she was the dispatcher for the Havana Volunteer Fire Department.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Nutter of Parsons; a brother, Donald Cummin of Dewey, Okla.; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Others preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Arthur Wade; two daughters, Saundra McElhaney and Phyllis Wade; and a great-granddaughter.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Assembly of God Church in Caney. Burial will be in the Havana Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Assembly of God Church in Caney.

Memorials are suggested to the Havana Volunteer Fire Department and may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, 67337.
