He was born Jan. 7, 1946, in Dallas to Paul and Virginia (Smiley) Brown.
He was a cowboy and lived the past year near Kanopolis. He was formerly of the Peabody, Thayer and Lindsborg areas.
He loved his family, loved his friends and loved his horses.
He married Mary Hause on Jan. 7, 1966, in Dallas. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Samuel Paul Brown, and his wife, Helga, of Lima, Peru; a daughter, Elizabeth Jane Brown of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a granddaughter, Ariella "Papa's Girl" Spicher of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three brothers, Dr. Clay Brown of Morresville, N.C., Roger Brown of San Francisco and Matthew Brown of Lewisville, Texas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Freemount Lutheran Church, rural Lindsborg, with his brother officiating. The family prefers casual dress. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
Memorials are suggested to the Greg Brown Education Fund in care of Farmers State Bank, Marquette.
Elmer F. Reddick
Elmer F. Reddick, 72, of Parsons died at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Society of Parsons. He had been in failing health.
