She was the only daughter born Sept. 9, 1928, in Parsons to Leo and Musa (Schofield) Brown. She grew up on a farm near Parsons and married her high school sweetheart, Bill Nielson, on Jan. 1, 1947, in Parsons.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed life with her family and friends and valued the memories and moments with them all.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Bill Nielson of Wichita; her son, Derrick Nielson and his wife, Alicia, of Andover; four loving grandchildren, Amanda, Madison, Zachary and Nathan Nielson, also of Andover; a brother, Kenneth Brown and his wife, Magrit, of St. George, Utah; and a host of friends.
The family would like to extend an invitation to a celebration of life memorial service scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Wichita.

Old Mission Mortuary in Wichita is in charge of arrangements.
