Angelina Ramirez, 88, of Parsons died at 3:56 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009, at Labette Health in Parsons.
She was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Parsons to Francisco and Rosa (Ramirez) Romero. She grew up in Parsons and attended St. Patrick's schools. She lived in San Francisco for about 37 years before returning to Parsons in the mid 1970s.
On Oct. 28, 1957, she married Eusebio Ramirez in San Francisco.
During her adult life she had worked as a nurse aide, as a grocery store employee and as a day care provider.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and of the Altar Society. She loved to do water painting, crocheting and gardening.
Survivors include her husband, Eusebio L. Ramirez of the home; a daughter, Estella Ramirez of Joplin; a stepdaughter, Becky Roe of Largo, Fla.; four grandchildren, Molly Smart, Ramsey Ramirez, Howard Roe Jr. and Melissa Roe Carroll; a great-granddaughter, Autumn Carroll; and three sisters, Petra Carrillo of Parsons, Lucille Noriega of Wichita and Lidia Ahumada of San Francisco.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Ramirez, in 1991; an infant brother, Poncho Romero; an infant sister, Rosita Romero; a brother, Jesse Romero; and a sister, Aurora Borjas.
The funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the rosary.
