Survivors include his parents, Roger and Linda Garrett of Georgetown, Texas (formerly of McPherson); a brother, Kirk Garrett of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and a paternal grandmother, Dorothy Bennett of Scottsdale, Ariz.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Parsons State Hospital and Training Center in Parsons. Inurnment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorial may be given to Kansas Special Olympics c/o Poke Stover, 300 N. Carver Lane, Lawrence, 66049. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Stockham Family Funeral Home in McPherson and Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.

IOLA -- Barbara J. Pace, 69, of Iola, formerly of Parsons, died at 3:25 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at her home. She had been in failing health.
She is survived by a son, Randy Wells of Parsons; three daughters, Cindy Wells of Humboldt, Denise Bombagi of La Harpe and Rebecca Wells of Mulvane.
