Georgie E. Paul, 84, died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, following an illness.

Mrs. Paul was born Sept. 25, 1924, in Chetopa to Vernie and Maude (Wagner) Pearson.

She attended Gore School in Labette County as a child and graduated from Oswego High School in 1942.

She worked for 20 years as the secretary to the principal at Oswego Junior High School.

Survivors include a sister, Retha Merritt of Absarokoe, Mont.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, Otis Couch, John Harris and Leon Paul.

The graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Oswego Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena.

Memorials are suggested to Quaker Hill Manor Activity Fund in care of the funeral home.
