She was born on Dec. 31, 1923, in Ellsworth County to Ernest and Belle (Alcorn) Beebe. She grew up on the family farm in Ellsworth County until the family moved to the Geneva area.
In 1941, she married Jesse C. Mabie, and they made their home in Parsons until 1980. She moved to Fallbrook, Calif., for several years before moving to Park City 25 years ago.
She worked as a checker at Foodtown Supermarket before working as a unit secretary in hospitals in the communities where she resided.
Survivors include three children, Bill Mabie and his wife, Mary, of Greenville, S.C., Susan Mabie of Stuart, Fla., and Sidney Mabie and his wife, Pat, of Park City; two grandchildren, Molly Mabie of Maize and Sarah Mabie Walker and her husband, Jeremy, of Chattanooga, Tenn; and a great-granddaughter, Kynlee Walker of Chattanooga, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Lester Beebe and Harland Beebe.
Family and friends will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel, Iola, before leaving for the graveside service at Geneva Cemetery at 11 a.m.
Memorials are suggested to the Kansas Humane Society in Sedgwick County and can be left with the funeral home.
