She was born on Oct. 30, 1933, at Neodesha to Paul and Ruth Ann (Randall) Stephens. She grew up at Neodesha and attended Neodesha schools, graduating from Neodesha High School in 1951.
She attended the University of Missouri and later the University of Kansas, where she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She moved to Parsons in 1955 and worked as a women’s editor at the Parsons Sun.
She married Eugene “Gene” Joslin on Dec. 26, 1955, at Neodesha. He survives at the Presbyterian Manor in Parsons.
She later attended Labette Community College, where she received an associate’s degree in nursing and became a registered nurse. She worked at the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center, Labette County Medical Center (Labette Health) and the Labette County Health Department. She retired in 1990.
She was an avid reader and was a faithful member of Faith United Methodist Church in Parsons.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Dr. Charlie Joslin and his wife, Denice, of Ellinwood, Paul Joslin and his wife, Mia, of Wichita and Harrison “Joe” Joslin and his companion, Virginia, of Parsons; five grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ann Patricia Joslin-Wolken and Sally Ann Joslin; a grandson, Spencer Joslin; and a sister, Sara Stephens.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
