Connie Jo Fisher, 63, a lifelong Parsons resident, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village at St. Paul. She had been in failing health for several years.

She was born Dec. 6, 1949, at Parsons a daughter of Kenneth and Doris (Bradfield) Allen. She attended Service Valley Grade School and graduated from the Labette County Community High School at Altamont.

On June 10, 1974, she married Delmer D. Fisher in Nashville, Tenn. She was a homemaker for many years and from 1984 until 2000 she was employed as a receptionist at the Southeast Kansas Orthopedic Clinic. After her husband retired she began helping him raise cattle on their farm.

She was a member of the Parsons Foursquare Church. She loved spending time with her family and all aspects of country life. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and travelling.

Survivors include her husband, Delmer D. Fisher of the home; three sons, Craig L. Fisher of Austin, Texas, Travis W. Fisher of Aledo, Texas, and Preston D. Fisher of Chanute; a daughter, Shanler D. Fisher of Azle, Texas; nine grandchildren; a brother, Kenny Allen of Parsons; and a sister, Sonnie Aikens of rural Parsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alberta Journot; and an infant son.

A memorial graveside service will be at a later date. Burial will be in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
