TOPEKA — Edith Lee “Edie” Bauer, 84, of Topeka  died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Midland Hospice House.

She was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Parsons to Patrick Raymond and Gladys Winifred (Howie) Conroy.

She married Edgar "Eddie” Bauer on May 5, 1948, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Parsons. He preceded her in death July 13, 1997.

She worked for 28 years at J.C. Penney’s in sales and the payroll and human resources office.

Survivors include her children, Jim Bauer of Topeka, Amy Naylor of Tecumseh, Tim Bauer of Topeka and Patsy Secord of Emporia; nine grandchildren;  six great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Patsy Vogel of Las Vegas, Nev., and Ruby Currigan of Omaha, Neb.

She was preceded in death by three siblings, Mary Hook, Jean Brassfield and Jack Conroy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 17th and Stone, in Topeka. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 S.W. Urish Road, Topeka, where a rosary will be prayed by Knights of Columbus at 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Sisters of Charity at Most Pure Heart or Clare Bridge of Topeka and sent in care of the funeral home.
