BLUEJACKET, Okla. — Belinda J. “Lindy” Overman, 54, of Bluejacket, Okla., died at 5:35 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

Lindy was born Jan. 17, 1958, at Kansas City, Kan., to Jerry and Retha Jean "Jeanie" (Doherty) Wilson. She grew up there and attended school until moving with her family to Chetopa as a teenager. She continued to live in Chetopa until moving to Oklahoma about two years ago.

She earned a bachelor's degree in English literature from Missouri Southern State University and had taught English at Labette County High School in Altamont for several years. She had most recently worked at the Chetopa Senior Center. She especially enjoyed spending time with her son and grandchildren. She also enjoyed decorating.

She married David Paulin on July 10, 1975. He preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 1976. She later married Bob Overman; they divorced.

Survivors include a son, Jeremy Paulin and his companion, Amy Storm, of Chetopa; three grandchildren, Jade Paulin, Finlee Paulin and Ranie Paulin; her companion, Brady Jarrett of the home; two stepsons, Joel Jarrett of Pittsburg and Dustin Jarrett of Denver; three stepgrandchildren, Derby McReynolds, Delaney Mae Jarrett and Brady Ryan Jarrett; three brothers, Darren Wilson and his wife, Tonia, of Chetopa, Brad Wilson and his wife, Elizabeth, of Columbus and Dustin Wilson and his wife, Tammy, of Oswego; and a sister, Dana Smith and her husband, Steve, of Hepler.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by twin infant sisters.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. today at the Oakhill Cemetery in Chetopa. Memorials are suggested to a fund for her grandchildren's education. These donations may be left at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
