She was born on Dec. 15, 1936, in Garden Plain to Albert and Gertrude (Strunk) Kerschen. She had been a resident of Pittsburg since 1976.
She was a registered nurse and received a master’s degree from Indiana University.
Ms. McClure taught in the nursing department at Pittsburg State University for over 20 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, PSU retired faculty and the Red Hat Society.
Survivors include a son, Michael McClure and his wife, Michelle, of Pittsburg; a daughter, Lisa Farris of Parsons; three brothers, Albert Kerschen and his wife, Marilyn, of Wichita, Leon Kerschen and his wife, Dorothy, of Garden Plain and Jerome Kerschen II of Wichita; two sisters, Marcella Bogner of Haven and Cathy Murphy and her husband, Bob, of Garden Plain; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerome Kerschen I, Jim Kerschen and Mel Kerschen.
The liturgical service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with the Rev. Thomas Stroot officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. The parish rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Garden Plain. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Garden Plain. Burial will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Garden Plain. Wulf-Ast Funeral Home of Garden Plain is in charge of arrangements in Garden Plain. Bath-Naylor is in charge of arrangements in Pittsburg.
