He was born on Nov. 22, 1967, in Parsons to Ronald Hillis and Janice (Ball) Evans. He grew up and attended school in Parsons.
He worked at Millennium Rail in Neodesha.
He married Frances (Beardmore) Valentine. They later divorced.
He married Vickie L. Weaver on Dec. 11, 1992, in Parsons. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his mother, Janice Evans of Parsons; his father, Ronald Hillis and his wife, Sharon, of Independence; six sons, Tim Moyer of New Albany, Miss., Stephen Moyer of Irving, Texas, James Moyer of Oswego, Dennis “D.J.” Hillis of Fort Scott, Cody Hillis of Iola and Joshua Trotnic of Panama City, Fla.; three daughters, Christen Leyda of Columbus, Sarah Kerstetter and Whitney Hillis, both of Havana; 14 grandchildren; a brother, David Hillis of Parsons; and a sister, Carol Sharp of Parsons.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Hubert “Sonny” Evans; and a sister, Cindy Evans.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
