LENEXA -- Deborah June Poage, 56, of Lenexa, a former Parsons resident, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in Lenexa. Death followed a lengthy period of failing health.

She was born March 11, 1952, in Parsons to Leo and Audrey (Humphries) Poage. She grew up in Parsons and graduated from Parsons High School and Pittsburg State University.

She was a registered nurse and was self-employed in the nursing field many years.

Survivors include a host of friends and family.

Her parents and a sister, Alice Poage, preceded her in death.

There will be a graveside service at noon Saturday at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Altamont.

Memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and may be left at or mailed to Carson-Wall Funeral Home, P.O. Box 942, Parsons, 67357.
