MULVANE — Dwight A. Lollar, 77 of Mulvane, formerly of Weir, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born Oct. 31, 1934, in Hallowell the son of Ralph and Verna (Hansell) Lollar. 

He attended school in Columbus, graduating with the Class of 1952.  He joined the U.S. Army in June 1957. In May 1959, he transferred to the Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in May 1963.

On Oct. 17, 1959, he married Patricia Strickland in Oswego. She survives of the home in Mulvane.

Mr. Lollar worked for Dickey Clay, the city of Weir, the Arma Elevator and the Pittsburg State University maintenance department, where he worked for 23 years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee for many years; he has been attending the First Baptist Church of Haysville.

He was also was active in the American Legion of Weir.

Other survivors include two daughters, Janet Grant and her husband, Dave, of Chetopa and Carol Harris and her husband, Ron, of Haysville; five grandchildren; three great-grandchidren; three sisters, Karen Rion of Walnut, Twila Brown of Oswego and Ruth Naff of Parsons; and two brothers, Kenneth Lollar of Pittsburg and Darrel Lollar of Arma.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two infant brothers.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir with the Revs. Ben Scott and Jamie Tickel officiating. Burial will follow in the Hosey Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
