OSWEGO — Judy Kay Tedlock, 64, of Columbus went to be with the Lord at 5:55 p.m. Friday, Oct 5, 2012, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin following a courageous 3-year battle with lung cancer.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and the best granny. She lived in Columbus all of her life. She was the daughter of James D. Ward and Wanda (Howerton) Ward Poole.

She owned and operated Judy’s Hair Design and was a hairdresser for 35 years. She cherished and enjoyed her “ladies”, as she called them.

She was a member of Theta Tau Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and was truly blessed with lifelong friendships she treasured with her sorority sisters.

Her family was most sacred to her. Through the years, she enjoyed any event her children and grandchildren were involved in and going to the casino with her husband and being with her sisters.

Survivors include the love of her life of 46 years, Danny; her daughter, Jodie Grant (Kendall); sons, Mick Tedlock (Joy) and Corey Tedlock (Tiara); grandchildren, Montana and Morgan Grant, Jaden and Journey Tedlock, Paige Knight, Caden, Presley and Torey Tedlock, all of Columbus; a brother, Jim Ward (Glenda) of Lewisburg Tenn.; four sisters, Patty Blair (Phil) of Oswego, Paula Langerot ( Danny) of Columbus, Kathi Langerot (Gene) of Scammon and Marla Tanner (Steve) of Columbus; as well as many nieces and nephews who were all special to her, in addition to her aunts and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father (in 2012) and mother (in 1994).

The service was Tuesday at Derfelt Funeral Home in Columbus. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Columbus Community Foundation.
