He was born on May 17, 1946, in Parsons to Wayne E. and Barbara L. (Smith) Woodward. He attended local schools and graduated from Labette County Community High School in Altamont.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and did construction work throughout his adult life.
Survivors include two sons, Dusty Woodward and Wesley Woodward, both of Parsons; three brothers, Harold Woodward of Pittsburg, Darrel Woodward of Altamont and Terry Woodward of Parsons; and three sisters, Evelyn Pryor of Pittsburg, Charlene Sturgeon of Wann, Okla., and Wylene Bowman of Parsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Eddie Lee Woodward; an infant sister, Mary Louise Woodward; and a brother, Lester “Butch” Woodward.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Oakwood Cemetery. Military honors will be given by Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Carson-Wall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, and friends may call at their convenience Thursday afternoon and evening.
