She was born on Dec. 31, 1951, in Miami, Okla., to Arnold Glendon and Lela Irene (Reed) Kirk. She grew up and attended school in Mound Valley.
For a time, she worked as a personal care attendant while caring for people in their homes.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy A. Elsey of Joplin and Ernest P. Swenson Jr. of Parsons; a daughter, Lydia I. Kepner of Oswego; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Glendon Kirk of Chetopa, Clinton Kirk of Commerce, Okla., and Les Kirk of Miami, Okla.; and a sister, Pamela Taylor of Baxter Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
After cremation under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons, no services are planned.
