CHETOPA — Robert Dean Evans, 65, of rural Chetopa died at 10:35 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, in the emergency room at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. 

He was born on Oct. 28, 1946, in Columbus to Robert and Barbara (Hale) Evans. He was a graduate of Columbus High School and later earned an associate degree from Labette Community College in Parsons.

He most recently was manager of Goodyear Tech Shop in Spring, Texas.

Survivors include his mother, Barbara Evans of Chetopa; two daughters, Angela Evans of Miami, Okla., and Lydia Evans of Houston; two grandchildren; and a sister, Marcia Evans of Chetopa.

Following cremation, the graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fairview Cemetery near Chetopa under the direction of Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
