Linda was born in Denver and moved to Parsons at a young age. In the early 1970s, she moved to Florida, where she met her husband of 40 years, Jerry.
Linda retired from the Florida Parole Commission in 2003 with more than 30 years of service to the state of Florida. Prior to serving 20 years in the Parole Commission Chairman’s office, she served 10 years with the Florida Department of Corrections at numerous facilities and the central office.
Survivors include her mother, Helen Todd of Parsons; her devoted husband, Jerry Vaughan; a son, Jeremy Vaughan, daughter-in-law, Scotti Pelham Vaughan, and a beloved grandchild, Jerrett Beau Vaughan, all of Tallahassee; a brother, Wayne “Bud” Todd, and a sister-in-law, Cathie, of Lenexa; nieces, Kristi Wilson and her husband, Dave, and Bonnie Whitlock and her husband, John; nephews, Darrick Todd and his wife, Bridget, and Dennis Pitts and his wife, Amy; and many loving friends. Her loyal yorkie-poo, Abby, never left her side.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Wayne E. Todd.
The service was on Friday in Tallahassee. Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, Tallahassee, was in charge of arrangements.
