She was born on Aug. 25, 1936, in Parsons to Charles E. Sr. and Irene (Aldridge) Minor. She was raised in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School.
She married Charles C. Reading on Feb. 28, 1956, in Castle Rock, Colo. He survives of the home.
She worked in food service all of her life, retiring in 2010.
Other survivors include her son, Gary Reading of Bloomington, Calif.; three daughters, Tammy McWhitty of Wichita, Naomi Reading of the Springfield, Mo., area, and Rosemary Jones of the Kansas City area; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles E. Minor Jr. of Burden; and two sisters, Charlene Walton of Sherman, Texas, and Lynn Reeves of Parsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Vernon Joe Minor.
The family will have a private memorial service later. Miles Funeral Service, Winfield, is in charge of arrangements.
