OSWEGO — Claudia Corrine King, 77, of rural Oswego died at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the home of her son in rural Parsons. She had been in failing health.

She was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Idabel, Okla., to Claude and Dora (Williams) Williams. As a young girl, she grew up in Idabel where she attended schools.  Through the years, she lived in several towns while working as an over-the-road truck driver. In 1972, she moved to Oswego. 

She married Wiley Mahan. They later divorced. She married James Edings. They later divorced. On Dec. 12, 1977, she married Norman Richard King in Miami, Okla. Following retirement, they spent the winters in Arizona and summers in Washington. In 2000, the couple moved to Chetopa. He preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 2002.

She was a member of the Community Bible Church in Chetopa. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and flowers.

Survivors include three sons, Kennith Mahan, Ira Edings, both of Parsons, and James Keith Edings of Oswego; five daughters, Nancy LeMaster, Teresa Hull, both of Parsons, Joey Benward of Cape Fair, Mo., Eva Bozarth of Oswego and Lisa Heady of Edna; two stepsons, Rick King and Lonnie King, both of Washington; 30 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Nix of Duncan, Okla.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and a great-grandson.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Community Bible Church in Chetopa. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church at 10 a.m. until service time.
