OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. -- Jonathan Douglas Brungardt, 14, of Olive Branch died on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at LeBonheur Children's Medical Center.
He was an eighth-grade student at Desoto Central Middle School and enjoyed playing football, dirt biking, hunting and camping, being outside and helping others.
Jonathan was of the Catholic faith. He attended Liberty Academy in Shawnee, Okla.
He is survived by his parents, Doug and Tammy Brungardt; a brother, Michael Brungardt, all of Olive Branch; his grandparents, Jack and Donna Hutcheson of Lakin, Evelyn Brungardt of Galesburg and Ed and Lynne Hibbs of Ringwood, Okla.; his great-grandparents, Wilma Evans of Enid, Okla., and Ed and Vernetta Hibbs of Spearman, Texas; six aunts; eight uncles; and eight cousins.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Brungardt; and his great-grandfather, Bill Day.
The Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. today at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Olive Branch. Burial will follow in Autumn Woods Memorial Park.
