SEAGOVILLE, Texas — Michael Wade Kent, 56, formerly of Arkansas City, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, in Seagoville, Texas.
He was born Sept. 7, 1955, in Arkansas City to Benjamin and Edna (Wilson) Kent. He was reared and educated in Arkansas City and Newkirk, graduating from Newkirk High School in 1973. He attended Cowley County Community College.
He was a law enforcement officer in Arkansas City and Cowley County.
He married Julie Coover in 1976. They later divorced. He then married Bobbie Jean Miller in 1998. They later divorced.
Survivors include his children, Melanie Kent of Galesburg, Julia Elizabeth Kent and Jacob Michael Kent, both of Muskogee, Okla.; a sister Brenda Kent of Arkansas City; and brothers, Robert Kent of Newkirk, Okla., and Kevin Kent of Winfield.
He was preceded death by his parents; and sister, Elizabeth Kent.
Mr. Kent was cremated. A memorial service was Monday at the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City. Private burial will be at Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
