Gladys M. Lake, 85, of Parsons died early Sunday, June 17, 2012, at her home. 

She was born March 28, 1927, in Ponca City, Okla., to Delmar and Mary (Colts) Hand. She grew up in Newkirk, Okla., where she graduated from Newkirk High School.

She married Roy Lake on Aug. 29, 1947, in Newkirk, where they lived two years before moving to Wichita. In the early 1950s, the couple moved to Parsons where she had lived since.

She was a member of the Parsons Foursquare Church. She enjoyed reading and collecting angels and, in earlier years, sewing.

Survivors include a son, Rocky Lake and his wife, Shari, of Parsons; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Louise Ellis of Council Grove, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lake, on Feb. 20, 2006; a sister, Betty Peters; and a son, Charlie Lake, in June 2006.      

Following cremation, a memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Parsons Foursquare Church, where the family will receive friends immediately following the service.
