OSWEGO — Rudy Schreppel, 81, died at 6:27 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at Sunset Manor in Frontenac following an illness.

He was born Jan. 23, 1931, in Cocrol to Tom and Barbara (Glickenberger) Schreppel.

Rudy married Violet Keeney in 1951. They divorced in 1985. He married Peggy Middelswert in 1991. They divorced in 2000.

His life’s work, ventures and co-ventures included Tom & Rudy’s Bargain Center, Rudy’s Auto Center, Schreppel & Son Custom Harvesting, Schreppel Farms, S & S Field Operations, Oswego Oil & Gas and Vanderbilt Oil & Gas.

Survivors include a sister, Barbara Shelton and her husband, Roy, of Earlsboro, Okla.; two daughters, Janice Campbell and her husband, Kenny, of Altamont and Patsy Hair and her husband, Phil, of Owasso, Okla.; a son, Rudy “Butch” Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; six grandchildren, Michelle DeGrandi of Overland Park, Misty Oxford of Denver, Heather Salone of Dallas, Jason Schreppel of Lawton, Okla., Mandy Shaw of Altamont and Jessica Canarte of Pittsburg; six great-grandchildren, Marcus of Altamont, Alyssa, Avary and Ansley of Pittsburg and Dominic and Leo of Overland Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Joe, Tony and Tommy; and a grandson, Christopher Campbell.

The service will be at 2 p.m. today at Derfelt Funeral Home in Oswego with the Rev. Tom Stroot officiating. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery.
