Blain Daniel Smith, 10, of Edna died Monday, June 11, 2012, at his home.

He was born Sept. 13, 2001, at Parsons a son of Richard Craig and Sabrina Diane (Kirkland) Smith. His family lived at Parsons, Tulsa, Meramec, Okla., and then moved to Edna in 2012. He had just finished the fourth grade at the Edna Grade School.

Blain was active in Cub Scouts and was currently in Weeblos. He was academically gifted and loved reading. He also enjoyed horseback riding, bowling, wrestling, playing football, baseball and soccer. He also collected rocks and listening to music.

Survivors include his father, Richard Craig Smith of the home; two brothers, Corbin Smith and Preston Smith, both of the home; his paternal grandmother and stepgrandfather, Stephanie and Eric Burrows of Tulsa; his God parents, Dr. Daniel and Kathy Pauls of Topeka; his special friends, Judy Barney of Parsons, Thelma Collins of Mound Valley and Amber Scott of Edna; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sabrina Diane Smith, on Jan. 3, 2012.

A private memorial service will be later for the family. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
