CHERRYVALE — David Nelson Burlingame, 67, of Cherryvale died Monday, June 11, 2012.
He was born July 18, 1944, in Independence to Corney Nelson and Hazel Fern (Franklin) Burlingame. He attended schools in Moorhead.
On Oct. 10, 1975, he married Sharon Kay Franklin in Miami, Okla. She preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 1999. He worked at Cobalt Boats for 25 years as a production worker, retiring in 2007.
Survivors include four daughters, Debbie Williams of Thayer, Denise Burlingame, Donna Stiles, both of Neodesha, and Misty Burlingame of Independence; a son, Larry Burlingame of Nebraska; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Beulah Poe.
A celebration of life service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. Friends may call after noon on Thursday at the funeral home, where family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice Care of Kansas and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
