KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Dwight Eric Stringer, 53, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away Monday, June 11, 2012, at his home. His death was unexpected.
He was born on Oct. 24, 1958, in Parsons the son of Darrell E. and Beva C. Waller Stringer. He attended Labette County Community High School in Altamont.
He married Glenda Sue Dixon in Oswego on Jan. 22, 1977. They later divorced. He was employed at Shawnee Mission Ford for more than 30 years.
Mr. Stringer had a passion for all forms of music and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Beva C. Stringer of Lawrence; a daughter, Jamie Elaine Lehmkuhl and her husband, Charles, of Peculiar; his longtime friend, Diana Lawrence of Paola; a brother, Jeffrey L. Stringer and his wife, Yolanda, of Kansas City; two sisters, Lynn M. Searles and her husband, Martin, of Meriden and Janis E. Stewart and her husband, Steven, of Lawrence; two grandchildren, Kristopher and Riley Lehmkuhl; three nephews, three nieces, and nine great-nephews and great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell E. Stringer, on Feb. 1, 2007; and a great-niece, Amara Grace Stringer, on Jan. 11, 2004.
The family will receive friends beginning at noon Thursday at McGilley State Line Chapel in south Kansas City, Mo. This will be followed by the service at 2 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to the Heart of America Humane Society.
