NEODESHA — Peggy I. Clegg, 88, of Neodesha died Monday evening, May 28, 2012, at her home.

Peggy Isabel Clegg was born on Nov. 14, 1923, in Grundy County, Mo., to William Dennis and Bertha (Patton) Runk. She attended and graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, Mo., in 1941. She also attended Independence Community College.

She worked as a secretary with USD 461 in Neodesha.

She was a member of United Methodist Church, where she served as recording and membership secretary, finance assistant and missions program committee member. She was also a member of Beta Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and BPW.

On Sept. 29, 1951, at Neodesha, she married Donald Milton Clegg. He preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 2008.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Louise Dunn of Leavenworth and May “Lucille” McCune of Parsons; two sons, Donald “Milton” Clegg of Ozark, Mo., and John Runk Clegg of Lenexa; and eight grandchildren, Nathan A. McCune, Tim R. McCune, Amanda N. McCune, Tara D. Clegg, Tracy S. Clegg, Jessie D. Clegg, Chris Dunn and Debbie Right.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Runk; and two sisters, Mary Ruth Veach and Joy Marie Ruck.

After cremation, the memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church. Friends may call to register at the church. Cremation is under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha.

Memorials are suggested to United Methodist Church or the Rankin Memorial Public Library and can be left at the funeral home.
