She was born on Jan. 21, 1953, in Oak Ridge, La., to Josh A. Sr. and Casseal (Ford) Kendrick. She grew up and attended school in Louisiana before moving with her family in the mid-1970s to Parsons, where she had lived since.
Through the years, she worked in housekeeping at various nursing homes in the area.
She was a member of Macedonia Soul Winning Ministry in Parsons. She was a prayer warrior and avid churchgoer and enjoyed fishing and singing. She especially loved caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Bobby Kendrick and his wife, Catina, of Carthage, Mo., Robert Kendrick and his wife, Tammie, of Parsons and Tyrone Kendrick and his wife, Amanda, of Parsons; three daughters, Shirley House and her husband, David, of Carthage, Mo., Barbara Kendrick and Brenda Natt and her husband, Johnny, all of Parsons; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Kendrick and his wife, Judy, of Parsons and Larry Kendrick and his wife, Charlie, of Olathe; and four sisters, Trebie Bartholomew and her husband, Martin, Rose Kendrick, all of Parsons, Mary Jameson of Greensboro, N.C., and Geneva Qualls of Gibson, N.J.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, David Mosley, Josh Kendrick and Billy Kendrick; and three sisters, Cassie Mosley, Gloria Kendrick and Effie Collins.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Watson Memorial Church of God in Christ in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
