ST. PAUL — Cindy Ann Smith, 46, went to be home with her Savior early Tuesday morning, May 15, 2012, at her home in St. Paul following a two-year courageous battle with cancer. Her family was by her side and told Cindy they would see her again later.

Cindy was born Sept. 21, 1965, in Parsons to Robert and Carlene (Harrison) Yarnell. The family lived in Erie during her early years and then moved to St. Paul, where she had resided since. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1984 and then attended Labette Community College.

From 1985 to 1993, Cindy was employed at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant. She operated a day care at her home from 1993 to 2000. From 2000 to 2004, she was employed at the St. Paul School and since 2004 had worked at Farmers National Bank of Walnut.

Cindy was a devout Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Erie, where she served her Lord faithfully. She was dedicated to her family and friends and enjoyed visiting and staying busy around her home. She was an avid walker and was a loving wife, mom, daughter, sister and aunt.

On Feb. 14, 1987, she married Tim Smith at St. Paul. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Andrea, Allison and Breanna Smith, all of the home; her parents, Robert and Carlene Yarnell of St. Paul; two brothers, Randy Yarnell of Arma and Rodney Yarnell of Frontenac; and two sisters, Tammy Shoemaker of St. Paul and Brenda Smith of Parsons.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Erie. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery at St. Paul. She will lie in state at Carson-Wall Funeral Home in St. Paul after 10 a.m. Thursday, and the family will receive friends there from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
