COFFEYVILLE — Beverly Rowe, 86, of Coffeyville died Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Windsor Place.

She was born April 24, 1926, at Kansas City, Mo., to Harold James and LeOrrel (Berkihiser) Bagby. Beverly grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College.

In 1942, she married Robert G. Wood. They later divorced.

In October 1961, she married Keith L. Rowe at Miami, Okla. Following their marriage, they made their home in Wichita. After retirement, they returned to Coffeyville. Dr. Rowe preceded her in death in June 2000.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville; Order of the Eastern Star, serving as past worthy grand matron for Kansas; Daughters of the Nile; Rainbow Girls; and PEO and served on the Coffeyville Public Library Board. In the 1950s, she helped organize and sponsor the Coffeyville Westeraires Youth Riding Group. She played the organ for many years at horse shows, rodeos and other events.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Bowen and her husband, Bill, of Parsons; a stepdaughter, Judith Dewhirst of South Carolina; two grandsons, Russ Bowen and his wife, Dawn, of Omaha, Neb., and Doug Bowen and his wife, Tanya, of Dallas; two stepgrandsons, Rob Dewhirst of Lawrence and Brian Dewhirst of South Carolina; and five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Nick, Amber and Alex.

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville with Pastor Diane Massey officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville.

The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville Public Library, and these may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, 67337.
