McCUNE — Bobby Dean Markley, 71, of McCune died at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg following an illness.

Bobby was born Jan. 18, 1941, in McCune to Johnny and Nettie (Larcom) Markley. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1958 graduate of McCune High School.

On July 10, 1966, he married Carla Albertson in Parson. They later divorced.

Bobby worked as a pipefitter, welder, electrician, mechanic, project manager and/or special operator for 35 years at Mid-America Pipe in Scammon.

He was known as a jack of all trades, and no project was too big or small. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, his dog, family and most of all his granddaughters.

Survivors include three daughters, Robin Chartier and her husband, Dennis, of McCune, Wendy Markley and Mark Burks of Parsons and Stacy Gray and her husband, Tony, of Springfield, Mo.; two sisters, Betty Henson of McCune and Mavis Delapaz of Florida; and two granddaughters, Victoria Johnson of Pittsburg and Hailey Moss of McCune.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Pittsburg, with Pastor Aaron Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Star Cemetery in West Mineral. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Bath Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Via Christi Cancer Center and can be left at or mailed to Bath Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway, Pittsburg, 66762.
