He was born Oct. 9, 1936, in rural Cherryvale to Theodore and Pauline (Morris) Housel. He grew up in rural Cherryvale and attended Cherryvale schools.
On Oct. 5, 1956, he married Ann Hattan in Independence. She survives of the home.
He owned and operated Housel Dozier Service for 25 years.
Other survivors include two sons, Clarence T. Housel of Independence and Mark Edward Housel of Parsons; a daughter, Cindy Allison of Cherryvale; three brothers, Bob Housel, John Housel and Ted Housel, all of Cherryvale; a sister, Molly Parker of Coffeyville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Mike Housel; and a sister, Evelyn Fink.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery, rural Cherryvale. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
