BAXTER SPRINGS — Anthony “Tony” A. Oplotnik Jr., 69, of Baxter Springs passed from this life suddenly at his home Thursday, April 19, 2012.
He was born Feb. 10, 1943, in West Mineral to the union of Tony and Mildred (Fouts) Oplotnik. He enjoyed fishing and collecting antiques.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Jeri Andrews; two daughters, Tonya Banzet and her husband, Bruce, of Ida, La., and Michelle Pierce and her husband, Bobby, of Bossier, La.; two stepsons, Dustin Andrews and his wife, Amy, and Jerod Andrews, all of Baxter Springs; a stepdaughter, Beth Andrews of Baxter Springs; a sister, Mary Ann Shields of Oswego; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a niece, Vicky Eubanks of Billings, Mont.; a nephew, Bob Shields of Oswego; and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Angelo Oplotnik.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Derfelt Funeral Home of Columbus with Pastor C.C. Craig officiating. Burial will follow in the Edgmand Cemetery.
