NASHVILLE, Ind. -- Mary Lou Russell, 81, of Nashville died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Nashville.

She was born April 8, 1927, in Parsons to Clarence and Maude (Whealen) Main. She attended school in Parsons and the University of Kansas.

She married Roy Eugene Russell on July 28, 1949. She was a freelance artist and cut silhouettes and painted in oil and watercolor for 50 years. The couple owned a bed and breakfast in Nashville. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Richard of Nashville; three daughters, Jennifer Hollingsworth of Broken Arrow, Okla., Sharon Turvey of London and Dana Skirvin of Nashville; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Dorothy Lang of Cincinnati.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. David's Episcopal Church in Beanblossom, Ind.

The family suggests memorials to Brown County Historical Society, P.O. Box 668, Nashville, Ind., or St. David's Episcopal Church. Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home of Nashville is in charge of arrangements.
