CHETOPA — Hannah “Maxine” Clark, 87, of Chetopa died at 12:48 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Oswego Hospital.
She was born March 29, 1924, in Tonkawa, Okla., to Ottie and Sarah (Rupe) Gardner. As a young girl she attended first through seventh grades at White Eagle, south of Ponca City, Okla., and eighth grade at Prairie Center. She graduate from Welch High School.
She operated Maxine’s Beauty Salon in Chetopa for nearly 50 years.
On Dec. 27, 1942, she married Chester Clark. He preceded her in death April 15, 2005.
Survivors include a son, Chester Clark Jr. of Oswego; a daughter, Joan Allen of Chetopa; seven grandchildren; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eula Lichti of South Coffeyville, Okla.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
