Jackie Lee Tighe, 75, of Parsons died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin.
He was born on May 20, 1936, in Redkey, Ind., to Edward Matthew and Ruth Leota (Chittum) Tighe. He graduated from Redkey High School in 1954.
He served in the U.S. Marines.
He worked as a carpenter at Local 1016, Muncie, Ind., owning and operating Tighe Construction for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Deloris (Myers) Tighe of the home; a daughter, Gayle LaPierre of Hartford City, Ind.; two sons, Rock A. Tighe of Marion, Ind., and Gary W. Tighe of Fishers, Ind.; two stepsons, B.J. Myers Jr. and Rick Myers, both of Parsons; two stepdaughters, Patty Baker of Adair, Okla., and Shelly Kenworthy of Sandpoint, Idaho; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; 17 stepgrandchildren; and 16 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gene Tighe; and a grandson, Austin Tighe.
The service was on Jan. 23 at MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel, Redkey, Ind. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey, Ind.
