SEVERNA PARK, Md. — Anna Dodson, 77, a former Parsons resident, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Genesis Health Care Center in Severna Park, Md. She had lived in Severna Park since 2007.

She was born on July 14, 1934, at Bertzhausen, Germany, to Anton and Carolina (Niebler) Peter. She grew up in Germany and married Walter Dodson at Laaber, Germany, on Aug. 4, 1954. The Dodson family moved to Parsons in 1969 after he retired from active military service. Mr. Dodson preceded her in death on June 1, 1979.

Mrs. Dodson had been employed in Parsons at Fred Ronald Manufacturing Co. and at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant.

She was a member of Church of St. John the Evangelist in Severna Park, Md. In Parsons, she had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had attended the Catholic churches in Parsons and St. Paul.

Survivors include two sons, Tony Dodson and his wife, Nancy, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tim Dodson and his wife, Jill, of Collinsville, Okla.; a daughter, Trina Ellis and her husband, Mark, of Severna Park, Md.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, George Peter, of Laaber, Germany; and a sister, Antonia Peter-Meier of Landshut, Germany.

Two brothers, Karl Peter and Wendelin Niebler, preceded her in death.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
