ERIE — Virgil LeRoy “Bud” Shaw, 79, of Erie died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Prairie Mission Retirement Village at St. Paul.

He was born on Feb. 16, 1932, to Mildred and Virgil A. Shaw.

After high school, he served in the U.S. Army Airborne.

On Feb. 21, 1953, he married Norma Jean Brasier.

He was the vice president of a retail store, David’s, in Wichita for 20 years.

Survivors include two sons, Virgil Alan Shaw of Carthage, Mo., and William Lowell Shaw of Edmond, Okla.; and three grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, James Shaw and Helen Cosby.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Federated Church, Erie. Inurnment will follow in East Hill Cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday at Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Erie.
