She was born on Dec. 17, 1933, in Reno, Nev., to Joseph and Pearl (Wosika) Farrell.
On Jan. 21, 1951, in Fayettville, Ark., she married Theodore Curtis Hastings, and recently they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Hastings was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in California, Mo., where she enjoyed handwork with the church ladies. She loved her career with nursing homes and hospitals as a licensed practical nurse. In later years, she volunteered at Moniteau Care Center. She enjoyed her flowers, and her children were her life.
Survivors include five sons, Fred Hastings of Concordia, Mo., Bill Hastings and his wife, Jane, of Parsons Ed Hastings and his wife, Kristin, of Gothenburg, Neb., Don Hastings and his wife, Nicky, of Baxter Springs and Richard Hastings of California, Mo.; three daughters, Theresa Flippin and her husband, David, of California, Mo., Patricia Greenland of Alva, Okla., and Melissa Wilson and her husband, Mike, of Rogersville, Mo.; a sister, Nancy Linnebur and her husband, Alvin, of Parsons; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Curtis Hastings, on July 2, 2011; a brother, William J. Farrell; a daughter, Christy Marie; and a son, Anthony “Tony” Hastings.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Windmill Ridge Funeral Chapel, California, Mo., with Sister Mary Ruth Ward and Pastor Frank Hensley officiating. Private family inurnment will be at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery.
