She was born on Aug. 28, 1922, in Valeda to Glen Thomas and Vida Ann (Neidigh) Bowman. During her high school years, she moved to Altamont, where she attended school and graduated from Labette County Community High School.
On May 13, 1944, she married Jim Cross. Following marriage, they lived in Oswego, where she was a homemaker. They later divorced.
In July 1967, she married Orval Willey. He survives of the home.
While living in Parsons, she was employed by Fred Ronald Manufacturing Co. for more than 25 years.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Other survivors include a son, Bob Cross and his wife, Jean, of Chanute; a daughter, Marie Mahoney and her husband, Michael, of Overland Park; a stepson, Jimmy Willey and his wife, Brenda, of Salina; a stepdaughter, Jackie Gitchel and her husband, Bob, of Pueblo, Colo.; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Ralph Bowman and his wife, Retha, of Springfield, Mo., Raymond Bowman and his wife, Naomi, of Wichita and Leo Bowman and his wife, Michiko, of Russellville, Ark.
She was preceded in death by a sister.
Following cremation, the family will have a private service at a future date. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
