FLUSH — Amelia “Clara” Belle (Volmer) Ebert, 90, of Flush died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at Mercy Regional Hospital.

She was born on May 27, 1921, on her family farm southeast of St. Paul to George A. and Rose (Knott) Volmer. She attended grade school at Odele in Neosho County and graduated from St. Francis High School in St. Paul.

She married Benedict “Dick” Ebert on Sept. 11, 1945, in St. Paul. He preceded her in death on May 24, 2004. She farmed with her husband and drove a school bus for USD 323 in Westmoreland schools for many years.

Survivors include three sons, Stephen Ebert of Westmoreland, George Ebert of rural St. George and Donald Ebert of Wamego; two daughters, Rose Ann Kuhlman of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Mary Clara Siderewicz of Westmoreland; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rose Mary O’Toole of Girard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rose Volmer; three brothers, George Volmer, Cecil Volmer and William Volmer; and two sisters, Vera Diskin and Garnett Boaz.

A celebration of Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Flush. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego, where family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today. The family will pray the rosary at 7 p.m.
