John P. Trimble, 82, of Parsons died at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at his home.

He was born on May 23, 1929, at Parsons to Ren and Alma (Groff) Trimble. He grew up in Parsons and attended country and Parsons schools.

He married Frances Jean Myers on Dec. 10, 1949. She preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 2010.

He worked as auto mechanic at the Walter Moss Lincoln-Nash dealership and at Haskett and Pedlar before he owned and operated the Trimble Auto Service.

John is survived by a son, Stephen Trimble of Parsons; three daughters, Dorothy Smith and her husband, Larry, Linda Drummond and her husband, Gary, all of Parsons, and Jo Trimble of Altamont; eight grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Viola Campbell and Virginia Breit.

A private family visitation will be at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
