EL DORADO — Martha Pearl Miller, 91, a lifelong Erie resident, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at the LakePoint Nursing Home in El Dorado.

She was born July 14, 1920, at Erie a daughter of George Stephen and Pearl Viola (Yockey) Golden. She grew up at Erie.

On April 16, 1930, she married Hurley E. Miller at Chanute. The couple operated Miller’s Locker for many years. Mr. Miller preceded her in death on July 18, 1999, and she moved to El Dorado to be near her family in 2000.

She was a member of the First Christian Church at Erie. In past years she enjoyed camping. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and attending arts and crafts shows.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Jean Schulz of Ottawa; nine grandchildren, including David Carter of Olathe, Scott Jones and Mark Jones, both of El Dorado; and 16 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Louise Jones, on Oct. 8, 1999.

A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at East Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home.
