Marjorie A. Waun, 81, of Parsons died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at her home. She had been in failing health several months.

She was born June 1, 1930, at Sandusky, Mich., the daughter of Alma S. and Rachel (Jones) Green. She grew up there and graduated from the Sandusky High School.

On June 3, 1950, she married Jerry D. Waun in Sandusky. They lived in Merced, Calif., and several other towns in California before moving to Parsons in 1967. Mr. Waun preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1998.

Mrs. Waun had been employed as a cook at the Katy Hospital, the Labette County Medical Center and several nursing homes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include nine sons, Jerry Waun Jr. and his wife, Susie, of Dennis, Mike Waun and his wife, Sherry, of Branson, Mo., Ray Waun, Kenny Waun, both of Killeen, Texas, John Waun and his wife, Carrie, of Leavenworth, Ron Waun and his wife, Louise, Tom Waun and his wife, Kim, Danny Waun, all of Parsons, and Billy Waun and his wife, Lisa, of Dewey, Okla.; two daughters, Cherie Schofield and her husband, Glen, of Chetopa and Cindy Rossman of Parsons; 106 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Green of Snover, Mich.; and three sisters, Isla Ferguson of Grayling, Mich., Catherine Coleman of Sandusky, Mich., and Ruth Ann Davis of Carsonville, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Alma Green Jr; and four grandchildren, Jordan Waun, Catherine Waun, Casey Joe Waun and Misty Kay Waun.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
