LaHARPE — Robert L. “Bob” Colborn, 86, of LaHarpe, formerly of the Thayer area and Eria, died on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

He was born on July 26, 1925, on a farm north of Kiowa to Frank and Grace (VanHuss) Colborn. He graduated from Medicine Lodge High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He married Norma Duncan. They divorced.

He married Mary Eckert. She preceded him in death in 1999.

He worked for Blair Trailer Co. for 17 years before retiring.

Survivors include two sons, Robert “Bob” Colborn of LaHarpe and Roger Colborn of Weir; a daughter, Annette “Toni” Stagg of Gardner; three brothers, Jack Colborn of Chanute, Kenneth Colborn and Donald Colborn, both of Salina; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister and four brothers, Harold, Jerry, Lester and Russell Colborn.

The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at Sumner Memorial Gardens at Wellington. Visitation was on Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Iola.

Memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church and may be left with Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, which is in charge of arrangements.
