He was born on May 14, 1925, in Parsons to Anton H. and Antonia (Hoff) Boecker. He grew up and attended schools in Parsons.
He worked with his father on the family farm until entering the U.S. Army. Following his honorable discharge, he lived in Texas for a time.
He married Lillian Ann Krska on Feb. 19, 1952, in Edinburg, Texas. In 1955, the couple moved to Parsons, where he lived until becoming a resident at Kansas Veterans Home several years ago.
He enjoyed baseball and anything John Deere.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Brodbeck and her husband, Mike, of McAlester, Okla., and Pat Kuchem and her husband, Chris, of Stilwell; a son, Frank Boecker of Toyah, Texas; four grandchildren, Carrie Smith-Beery, Nick Smith, Justin Kuchem and Christin Kuchem; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Boecker of Raytown, Mo., Robert Boecker of Bettendorf, Iowa, John Boecker of Neodesha; and two sisters, Theresa Gormley of Tulsa and Frances Merando of Liberty, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Boecker, on June 11, 2007; and a sister.
Following cremation, the service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
