ROCKLIN, Calif. — Alvah “Sie” Everett Ellison, 96, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at his home in Rocklin, Calif.

He was born on March 14, 1915, in Girard. Sie was a graduate of Labette County High School in Altamont, Class of 1933. A resident of Rocklin for 31 years, he assisted others as long as his strength allowed and was an inspiration to those who knew him.

He was a faithful member of his church, a veteran of both the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Air Force, and a devoted civil servant with 36 years of service to his country. He served numerous years as a Boy Scout leader and member of the American Legion. He will be remembered as an avid fisherman and an ardent fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Sacramento River Cats.

He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Ruby Fern Steeby Ellison. He is survived by son, Thomas Ellison and his wife, Kathy, of Eagle, Idaho; and by a grandson, Mark Ellison of Seattle.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Shepherd of the Sierra Presbyterian Church, 5400 Barton Road, Loomis, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Shepherd of the Sierra Church or to the American Lung Association.
